Giggle Fest • Portraits

When photographing people, I really enjoy the moments where people aren't thinking about having their photo taken. Moments of pure joy, giggles, eyes closed is a bonus. I put together this portrait series from past shoots with some of my favorite natural expressions of happiness. Sirens & Cider • Capitol Cider • Seattle, WA

I had the privilege of photographing a harvest inspired farm-to-table style event at Capitol Cider featuring all local Seattle female chefs. The talent was endless and all 6 dishes were works of art. Each dish was created based on the Alpenfire Ciders they were paired with. This was the first of an event series. Feel like you missed out? Stay up to date on future events here!

The chefs:

Sara Harvey – Chef De Cuisine, Capitol Cider Kaleena Bliss – Chef De Cuisine, Mistral Bobbie Mollenberg – Sous Chef, Spur Mac Jarvis – Chef, Ernest Loves Agnes Katie Gallego – Sous Chef, Orfeo Emily Young – Chef De Cuisine, Old Sage

Let's Go on an Adventure • Isla Mujeres, Mexico

Recently I got to take a trip to Isla Mujeres to photograph a few luxury real estate rentals. While I was on the island I got a great taste of Mexican culture and am now in love with the beautiful water and relaxed vibe. Just being there makes you feel completely rejuvenated. A few favorite restaurants:

Lola Valentina- A very solid cuisine across the board. Great for dinner and wish I had gone for brunch because the menu sounded amazing.

GreenVerde- try the fish tacos and fresh cucumber "lemonade" (made out of limes).

Elements of the Island- Delicious and very reasonably priced breakfast. Best fruit I had on the island and the people who work there are incredibly nice and accommodating as well.

2015 Year in Review • Portraits

Here's a look back at some portrait highlights from 2015! What a great year it's been traveling and photographing headshots, portraits, families, and pets.

Foodie Fridays • Early Girl Eatery • Asheville, NC

There are few things I love more than brunch. Early Girl Eatery in Asheville, NC has consistently impressed me. One of my favorite dishes is the "Early Girl Benny", which is two grit cakes topped with tomato, spinach, poached eggs, tomato gravy and fresh avocado. A delightful southern take on a brunch classic. Check out this southern charm in downtown Asheville, NC!

Alex & Miles • Portrait Session • Charleston, SC

I was in Charleston, SC recently photographing a blues event, Holy City Blues Exchange. Alex helped organize the event and hired me to photograph her with her husband Miles and their sweet dogs. They got married in Charleston and used to live there, so the city has a special place in their hearts. We walked along The Battery and took photos at all the places we found beautiful. Charleston is full of sophisticated southern charm.

Foodie Fridays • 167 Raw • Charleston, SC

167 Raw Fish Market and Oyster Bar was unbelievably delicious. The lobster roll was so fresh and the lobster was the star of the sandwich, very sweet and soft which contrasted well with the crispy buttery roll. The guy next to me said it could be described as nothing less than "sensual" and I could not agree more. Beautiful platters of fresh seafood on ice filled the restaurant around me. I also enjoyed the atmosphere of this small oyster bar; light and inviting, with all bar seating. Be prepared to wait, but definitely well worth it. As a party of 1, I waited 20 min for lunch. Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant if you're visiting Charleston, SC.

Ben & Grace • Married! • Woodland Park Zoo • Seattle, WA

I had the absolute privilege of photographing a wedding with TréCreative at the Woodland Park Zoo recently. Ben and Grace were so sweet and it was a blast taking photos around the zoo all day. Check out some of my favorites below. Congratulations again Ben and Grace!

Chef Steps • Proposal Picnic • Volunteer Park • Seattle, WA

Two very dear friends of mine got engaged recently and I got to be a sneaky part of making it all happen. After the official proposal in the Volunteer Park Conservatory, one of the planned surprises for the day was a sophisticated picnic in Volunteer Park catered by Chef Steps. The food was unbelievably delicious! Here are some photos from the very special day with quite a few of the awesome food (for Chef Steps blog and your enjoyment). Congratulations Anastasiya and Julian! I could not be more happy for you both.

Magazine Feature! • Bruce's Candy Kitchen • 1859 Oregon's Magazine

I just got a feature in 1859 Oregon's Magazine. They found a photo of Bruce's Candy Kitchen that I took on my road trip to move to Seattle and it's now out in the 2015 July/August issue. So excited! To check out more of my road trip, click here!
