When photographing people, I really enjoy the moments where people aren't thinking about having their photo taken. Moments of pure joy, giggles, eyes closed is a bonus. I put together this portrait series from past shoots with some of my favorite natural expressions of happiness.
In 2015 Jessica Keener Photography got to photograph in some inspiringly beautiful places, including their first International wedding. From Hawaii to Curacao, and everywhere in between, check out the love and joy below!
Recently I got to take a trip to Isla Mujeres to photograph a few luxury real estate rentals. While I was on the island I got a great taste of Mexican culture and am now in love with the beautiful water and relaxed vibe. Just being there makes you feel completely rejuvenated. A few favorite restaurants:
Lola Valentina- A very solid cuisine across the board. Great for dinner and wish I had gone for brunch because the menu sounded amazing.
GreenVerde- try the fish tacos and fresh cucumber "lemonade" (made out of limes).
Elements of the Island- Delicious and very reasonably priced breakfast. Best fruit I had on the island and the people who work there are incredibly nice and accommodating as well.
Charlie and Alex got married at the gorgeous Sodo Park in Seattle. They have been together for years, and their day was full of genuine love and celebration. It really was such an honor to be a part of their special day. I remember one of the things that stood out the most was how both Charlie and Alex's families had felt like they have already been one big family for years, so it was a chance to get everyone together and party. I wish you both the best in your future adventures! Sending you my love.
Charlie and Alex are two very good friends of mine, so I was especially honored to photograph their wedding recently. I met Charlie in NC on a kayaking expedition in middle school. I met Alex when they both helped me move to Seattle 4 years ago, and Alex and I partnered up to do Babes with the Goods (a baking blog!). They both have a sparkling, warm place in my heart. They got married at Sodo Park, which has become my new favorite indoor Seattle venue. It is breathtakingly beautiful. Check out their very sweet first look.
Mario booked a Flytographer session to capture his proposal to Mary Kay while they were vacationing in Seattle. He wanted a beautiful view of the city in the background, so he proposed on the water taxi dock in West Seattle. After he popped the big question (and she said yes!) Mario had planned for several of Mary Kay's friends and his sister to fly into town and surprise her. Following a little celebrating with them, we took the water taxi over to downtown Seattle and I took some portraits of the two of them around Pioneer Square. Mary Kay really appreciated the urban landscape downtown, so we all walked around and pointed out spots we thought would be great for some photos. Teamwork! I had so much fun documenting their love and I wish Mario and Mary Kay the very best.
